This is the most exciting excursion you can have on Mount Etna. The “crateri sommitali” are so called because they are at the highest altitude that it is possible to reach on Etna. Looking, hearing, breathing, “tasting” the main scenery on Etna, close to its most active craters, has no equal. The route starts from an altitude of 1900 meters above sea level which is reachable by car. Then, you can take the cable way which allows you to reach the height of 2500 meters and from there, up to 3000 meters by an off-road vehicle (about 25 seats).
